Frequently Asked Questions
-
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll talk about what brought you to counseling, discuss your goals, and begin exploring the challenges you're facing. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
Most individual therapy sessions are 53 to 60 minutes long. This gives us enough time to explore what's important while developing practical strategies you can begin using between sessions.
-
Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic foundation. As progress is made, sessions often transition to every other week or monthly, depending on your needs and goals.
-
Yes. I offer both in-person counseling in Yanceyville and Burlington, North Carolina, as well as secure telehealth sessions for clients located anywhere in North Carolina. Together, we'll choose the option that best fits your schedule and preferences.
-
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, OCD, grief, depression, stress, burnout, and life transitions. I also have a passion for supporting first responders, veterans, educators, and others navigating the unique challenges of helping professions.

Faith can be incorporated into counseling if it is important to you. As a Christian counselor, I am happy to integrate biblical principles into therapy when requested. Your beliefs and preferences will always guide our work together, and counseling is never faith-based unless you would like it to be.
-
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice. This allows the appointment time to be offered to another client who may be waiting. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to a cancellation fee.
-
Session fees vary depending on the type of appointment. I also accept several insurance plans and offer private-pay options. If you have questions about fees or payment, I'm happy to discuss them before your first appointment.

Yes. I am currently in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna. Private-pay options are also available. If you're unsure about your benefits, I encourage you to reach out, and I'll help you determine your coverage before your first appointment.
